Systems Division

The Systems Division maintains the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) for Northern Kentucky University. The catalog, called NKUIRE, runs on the Eastlib server at the University of Kentucky using the ExLibris Voyager software. The System Division's responsibilities include the graphic design of the NKUIRE interface and the functioning of all the modules within the catalog which include Circulation services, Acquisitions, and Cataloging.

The division is also responsible for the maintenance of the library web pages. The division also troubleshoots library computer hardware/software and microform equipment and contacts IT as appropriate for assistance. The division reviews library hardware requests and keeps abreast of new technologies for library implementation. The division is also responsible for the maintenance of the PC inventory and recommendations for replacements.
