The following two databases were presented in the Reference Items tab and you may have already searched them for topic ideas or for ideas for a narrow issue within a broad topic for your research assignment. If you have not yet investigated these two databases, start your search for magazine articles and news reports here.

CQ Researcher

Each week a new edition of CQ Researcher is devoted to the examination of a current issue from a broad range of political and social fields including health and medicine, international affairs, education, the environment, the economy and technology. The editors of the publication offer articles on specific aspects of the issue including historical and current perspectives, statistical data, identification of current trends, and a bibliography of additional resources to build your research.

Facts on File: World News Digest

In addition to the topical studies in Issues & Controversies (suggested in the Reference Items tab), Facts on File also produces a weekly digest of news stories in the World News Digest database. You may search for your topic separately in each database, or you can click on Advanced Search: Search All Databases in the Search Options box to pull articles from both the weekly news digests and from the in-depth examination of current issues in the Issues and Controversies database.

Academic Search Premier

Academic Search Premier Mobile
Contains full text articles from nearly 4,600 journals, including more than 3,900 peer-reviewed titles. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for all 8,144 journals in the collection. PDF back files to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for 1,000 titles. The majority of full text titles are available in native (searchable) PDF, or scanned-in-color.

This database provides coverage of more than 500 full-text journals, including more than 500 peer-reviewed titles. Sociological Collection offers information in all areas of sociology, including social behavior, human tendencies, interaction, relationships, community development, culture, and social structure.
