The web edition of The Kentucky Encyclopedia contains all of the entries in the print and CD-ROM editions along with selected front and back matter. Entries have been enhanced with descriptive markup using the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI), a widely recognized standard for the encoding of electronic scholarly editions, which allows for additional search and display capabilities in the web environment.
