Lois Hamill, University Archivist and Assistant Professor at NKU, has won a Kentucky History Publication Award for her recently published book, Archives for the Lay Person: A Guide to Managing Cultural Collections. This book is thorough, but concise, and provides excellent guidance for individuals and smaller institutions that need to organize what have often been long neglected collections.
The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) sponsors the Kentucky History Awards which recognize outstanding achievements by historians, public history professionals, volunteers, business and civic leaders, communities and historical organizations throughout the Commonwealth.
Lois will be presented her award at the KHS Annual Meeting and Kentucky History Celebration at the Old State Capitol in Frankfort on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013. We extend our congratulations and sincere gratitude to Lois for her hard work and outstanding contributions to the preservation, awareness and appreciation of state and local history.
