Transition
The transitional time between semesters and years is unique because it provides the opportunity to close the door on any unfortunate things that may have happened and open the windows to new opportunities and possibilities. Have a great 2008 spring semester along with a happy and healthy New Year!
Story Time
Every other week, the LRC has been hosting a story time for the children of the Early Childhood Center. It has been a wonderful and enjoyable experience for all involved. There are a few slots open during the spring semester. If you're available to lead the story time on Wednesdays at 10:30, please contact Jennifer Smith at smithjen@nku.edu to participate.
Spring Workshops and Events
The LRC will be sponsoring the following events during the spring semester:
- January 30 and February 6, 2008 Adopt a Science Book!
- Education Professor, Dr. Eric Rowley will lead a discussion and analysis of selected science textbooks. Discussion will focus on how effectively the textbooks address state and national science education standards. Bring questions and concerns about your current textbooks to help guide the discussion.
- March 12, 2008 Graphic Novels: Just Another Comic Face?
- Come explore the world of graphic novels. Learn of their history and development, which titles should be in your collection, and tips for incorporating them into the classroom.
- April 13-19, 2008 National Library Week
- Be sure to visit Steely Library this week and enjoy the various activities planned for celebrating National Library Week.
