Learning Resource Collection

LRC Collection

The Learning Resource Collection (LRC) is located on the fourth floor of Steely Library. The collection is composed of materials which support the programs of Northern Kentucky University's College of Education. Materials in the LRC are appropriate for preschool through grade twelve, and include textbooks, computer programs, games and activities, puppets, and many other items that can be used with children in a teaching or tutorial environment.

Also housed in the LRC is the children's and young adult literature collection. This is a representative collection of the literature being published for children and young adults.

The state textbook adoption samples are another aspect to the LRC collection. The subjects of these materials change each year depending on what curriculum areas the school districts throughout Kentucky are scheduled to update.

Production Equipment

Due to various renovations in the library, the Production Room on the third floor no longer exists. A new area is currently under consideration.

Several items still remain available to users. The Ellison dies and machines are openly accessible on the third floor of the library. Several new dies have been ordered including a cursive alphabet. There is no charge to use the Ellison, but you must bring your own paper and other supplies. Laminating also remains available at 25 cents per foot. However, it is now necessary to ask the staff of Access Services to laminate your materials for you.
