"Ask A Librarian" (for Faculty and Staff)
Everything you wanted to know about the library but were afraid to ask. This is an informal drop in session created to give faculty and staff an opportunity to ask a reference librarian absolutely anything about the library. Stop by for a quick one-on-one consultation. We can help you utilize the great resources and services offered by Steely Library. Whether you have just one minute or several, it’s a great time to “Ask a Librarian”. Getting Students Beyond Google: Promoting Information Literacy
Information literacy is a set of abilities requiring individuals to recognize when information is needed and then have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information. Explore the tools available through Steely Library to support information literacy and learn to integrate information literacy skills into your curriculum. Facilitator: Stephanie Henderson

Copyright for the Classroom
Part One: Introduction to Fair Use
Part Two: Advanced Teach Act
Learn how copyright affects teaching and learning in today's digital environments. Topics for the session will include: using copyrighted materials in the digital classroom and in online teaching forums, assessing the risks, requesting copyright permissions, protecting your own copyrights, and copyright and library services. Facilitator: John Schlipp

To register for these or any POD classes, visit the POD webpage and click on Events >> Event Registration. You will find these classes under the Library/Info. Lit. category. All classes are held in the POD computer training lab, SL235 (unless otherwise noted).
