Using Archival Collections

  1. Materials in this division do not circulate. They are intended for reference use in the Reading Room only.
  2. No smoking, eating, or drinking is permitted in the Reading Room.
  3. Only pencils are to be used in the Reading Room. Pencils are available in the Reading Room.
  4. Because of the fragile condition of some of our materials, please exercise care in handling the materials.
  5. Do not mark your place in a book by placing it face down upon a table as this position may severely damage the book. Do not use pencils, notebooks, or other books to mark your place in a book. Please use the bookmarks provided.
  6. Although a researcher may request more than one box of records at a time, only one box may be consulted.
  7. Please return all materials to one of the staff. Please do not reshelve any books located within the Reading Room.
  8. Materials may be searched as you leave the department.

We appreciate your cooperation in our effort to make our holdings readily available to our patrons and ensure that the materials will serve future researchers as well.

Members of the staff are available for consultation. When in doubt or when you think you need help, please ask. We are here to assist you.
