The Acquisitions Department is part of the Technical Services Division of Steely Library, located on the second floor in Room 250. The department purchases monographic materials in all formats for Steely Library's collection. The acquisitions process includes pre-order searching, placement and receipt of orders and all activities involved with the payment of materials received as a result of the order process. Upon payment, the materials are then sent to the Cataloging Department for further processing.

The staff works to ensure that the annual materials budget is expended in a timely and accurate manner. Materials are ordered and payments are recorded using the Voyager acquisitions module.
