Propose an Exhibit

The Eva G. Farris Reading Room, which houses the popular reading collection, is available for exhibits. The display space is primarily wall friendly with a hanging system for framed work and directional lighting. The walls are approximately 9'6" high and the 5 walls with the hanging system measure 18', 19', 22', 15', and 7' wide.

Artworks, and exhibitable concepts are invited from students, faculty, and staff of Northern Kentucky University. In addition, works by local artists not affiliated with the university may be displayed. All media will be considered as will any aspect of art (fine arts, painting, graphic design, etc.). We do not encourage sculpture in the Reading Room at present.

Farris Reading Room

Do you have an idea for an exhibition? Steely Library's Eva G. Farris Reading Room provides faculty, students, and community artists the opportunity to display their work on campus. We are currently accepting proposals for exhibitions scheduled to open in August 2011 and January 2012.

The space is best suited to two-dimensional art works that can be mounted on the walls. All themes will be considered. Proposals should be submitted via email and should include the exhibition title, a short description of the exhibition (fewer than 250 words), and at least three sample images of works to be included.

Send proposals to contact Michael Providenti, Chair of the Farris Reading Room Exhibition Committee, at libraryexhibits@nku.edu.

The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2011.
